Gerndt Retires from Jefferson PD

Retiree had 34 years with department.

Sgt. Frank Gerndt retired from the Jefferson Township Police Department, and was honored at last week’s council meeting.

Gerndt joined the police department in 1988, became a corporal in 1991 and was promoted to sergeant in 2000.

During his time with the department, he served as a field training officer, deputy emergency management coordinator and was a member of the county-wide rapid deployment task force.

He received two honorable service awards and an award for educational excellence.

Gerndt and his wife Lynn live in Sussex County with their four children: Michael, Grant, Brianna and Garrett.
