A 52-year-old man who fell through the ice on Lake Hopatcong Sunday has been released from Morristown Medical Center for a leg injury he sustained in the accident.

The man was rescued by members of Hopatcong Fire Department's Companies No. 2, 3 and 4 after they got a call that a man was down in the ice around Pickerel Point at 1:40 p.m. The man had been sailing in an ice boat and fell through a gap in the ice about 200 feet from the shore edge, the NJ Herald reported.

The victim had sustained a leg injury, and it took about 45 minutes for firefighters in ice rescue suits to ferry the man to shore in a blow-up raft, according to the NJ Herald.
