Ivan Rodriguez Named Jefferson Police Officer of the Year

Announcement made at Junior Police Academy graduation.

Jefferson Township Patrol Officer Ivan Rodriguez was named the township’s 2011 Officer of the Year. Jefferson Chief Kevin Craig made the announcement at the graduation ceremony of the Junior Police Academy on Friday.

Craig detailed a list of the programs that Rodriguez either initiated or participates in, including:

  • Car seat installation program
  • Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE)
  • Scout tours
  • Alarm management
  • Project Lifesaver
  • Municipal Alliance Committee
  • Operation Take Back Prescription Drug return program
  • Vacant home program management
  • Kiddie Corp
  • Bike Safety
  • Respect Authority
  • Health fairs
  • Water safety
  • Red Ribbon week
  • Halloween Safety
  • Junior Police Academy

Rodriguez has been a member of the Jefferson Police Department since 2000. He began his law enforcement career in 1991 with the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department. He received Certificates of Merit from the New Jersey State PBA in 1994 and 1995.
