No injuries reported after fire department and police responded on Saturday afternoon.

A Maryland Avenue home was nearly struck by lightning on Saturday afternoon, according to Jefferson Township Police Lt. Sean Conrad.

The police and the Jefferson Township Fire Company responded to the incident at 2:30 p.m., but found no fire and no injuries as a result of the strike, Conrad said.

The only reported damage was to a kitchen appliance, which shorted during the power surge from the strike, said Conrad.
