McGowan Becomes Jefferson Police Officer

Transferred to Jefferson from Sparta

Ryan McGowan was sworn in as a police officer in Jefferson Township at a recent council meeting.

McGowan transferred to Jefferson throught the intergovernmental transfer program from Sparta Township. He has been a police officer since 2007.

McGowan graduated from Seton Hall University with a Bachelor’s degree in communications. He was captain of the Seton Hall men’s soccer team and was drafted by the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer in the 2004 draft.

McGowan became an officer through the alternate route program of the Morris County Police Academy in 2007. He was president of his class.

He is an officer in the patrol division.
