Motor Vehicle Stops End in DWI Charges

Police report several recent arrests

Several people have been charged recently with driving while intoxicated and related offenses by Jefferson Township police:

  •  Officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident on Espanong Road on May 14. Police said they found Saverio Caramanna,19, of Jefferson Township under the influence and in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was placed under arrest and charged with driving while intoxicated, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and numerous other motor vehicle violations.
  •  John Pendergast, 60, of Jefferson Township was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, as well as other motor vehicle violations, on May 12 following a report of an erratic driver on Weldon Road.He was released pending a municipal court appearance.
  •  Susan Gizzo, 50, of Sparta was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated on May 7 after a motor vehicle stop on Arrowhead Trail. She was also charged with refusal to submit to a breath test and other motor vehicle violations. She was later released pending a municipal court appearance.
  •  Stephanie Davis, 22, of Randolph was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated on May 3 after being found on the cell phone sitting in the left lane at a green light on Route 15 and Berkshire Valley Road, police said. She was released pending a municipal court appearance.
  • Matthew Kugler, 39, of Highland Lakes was arrested after a motor vehicle stop on Weldon Road on May 7. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and other motor vehicle violations, and later released pending a municipal court appearance.
