Police Converge Around Home on Berkshire Valley Road

But cops say they can't release information yet.

Several police agencies, including negotiators from the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, had converged around a home near on Berkshire Valley Road Sunday night, and activity there continued well past midnight.

Police closed traffic on Berkshire Valley between Ford Drive and Dunn Road. Officers there said they couldn't release any information at the time. Police lights and a police vehicle could be seen from the Ford Drive checkpoint.

The Breaking News Network, which transcribes messages from emergency responder communications, described the police presence on several occasions Sunday night as a response to a man who may have barricaded himself in his house. However, those reports were unconfirmed by law enforcement Sunday night, and often reflect only emergency responders' initial impressions, sometimes before arriving on scene; they do not represent official police statements.

The office of Morris County Prosecutor Robert Bianchi said late Sunday night that several law enforcement agencies were on the scene, but did not provide further information. On scene were the Jefferson Township Police, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit, Morris County Prosecutor's Office Negotiators, the Morris County Sheriff's Office Emergency Response Team, the Morris County Sheriff's Office's K9 unit the and the Morris County Department of Law and Public Safety.

Around 4 a.m., the prosecutor's office said the situation had been resolved, and more information would be released later.
