Police: Driver Unconscious Behind The Wheel

The following arrest information was supplied by the Jefferson Township police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Parsippany man was charged with driving while intoxicated after being found unconscious behind the wheel, Jefferson police said.

A car stopped with the motor running at the corner of Brady Road and Brady Boulevard aroused the suspicion of a passerby on Sept. 7, police said.

The passerby put the vehicle in park, removed the keys and called the police, police said.

When officers arrived at the scene they detected the odor of alcohol. Because he was severely intoxicated, the driver, Edward Pyskaty, 68, was taken to St. Clare’s hospital, police said.

He was later arrested and charged with DWI and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
