Police: Drunken Man Hits Female Neighbor Before Her Son Strikes Him With Bat

A drunken Jefferson man assaulted his female neighbor before her 15-year-old son struck him with a baseball bat, police said.
Edward Bonacore, 56, was charged with simple assault for the May 31 incident on Terence Avenue.
According to Capt. Eric Wilsusen, the female victim said Bonacore was drunk and began arguing and the struck her. The victim's son then struck Bonacore with a baseball bat, Wilsusen said.
Bonacore was charged and transported to the Morris County Jail in lieu of bail.
