Motorcycle Crash Outside Charley's Tavern Under Investigation

Police probe whether alcohol was a factor in crash that broke Jefferson man's leg.

A Jefferson Township man had to be treated at Morristown Medical Center for a broken leg after crashing his motorcycle into another vehicle Wednesday in front of Charley's Tavern on Route 181 in Lake Hopatcong, according to NJ.com. The accident shut down the southbound ramp from Route 15 onto Route 181 for the better part of an hour.

Angel Moreno, 47, reportedly was pulling his 2009 Harley out of the bar's driveway at about 6:45 p.m. when he hit a 1999 Pontiac being driven by 20-year-old Paige Toriello of Stockholm. A medical helicopter was called to the scene of the accident, but in the end it was not used. Police said the accident remains under investigation and that officials are looking into whether alcohol was a factor in the incident, the article said.
