Head-On Crash Witnesses Sought, Woman Still Critical

Incident occurred last week on Berkshire Valley Road.

Jefferson Township police are asking for help from witnesses to a serious accident that occurred on Berkshire Valley Road between Minnisink Road and Route 15 last Thursday morning that has left one woman hospitalized in critical condition for a week.

The accident occurred when a vehicle operated by Andrea Fornelos, 21, of East Hanover allegedly crossed over a double yellow line, hitting a car operated by Erika Bath, 16, of Newton, shortly before 8 a.m. Bath was driving with a learner's permit with her father, passenger Richard Gannon, 53, of Wantage.

Fornelos was transported to Morristown Memorial Hospital. She remains hospitalized in critical condition, police said.

Both Bath and Gannon were transported to St. Clare’s in Dover for moderate injuries. 

The Jefferson Township Rescue Squad and MICU responded to the scene.
