Rev. Christopher Muldoon Named Police Chaplain
He will serve the department in a variety of ways.
Rev. Christopher Muldoon, pastor of church in Lake Hopatcong, was named police chaplain at last week’s Jefferson Township council meeting.
Muldoon was ordained at All Hallows eminary in Dublin in 1971 and has been a priest for more than 40 years. He has a Masters Degree in Theology and a Doctorate in Ministry from the New York Theological Seminary.
The position of police chaplain is unpaid, according to Jefferson Township Police Chief Kevin Craig. He said that the chaplain helps council officers, visits injured officers and their families and officiates at police ceremonies.
