Stalker With Knife Follows Woman to Police Station, Cops Say

21-year-old West Milford man charged with stalking, resisting arrest and possession of a knife.

An alleged stalker had a knife when he followed a 47-year-old township woman to the police station when she tried to report him on Sept. 10, Jefferson Township Police said.

Cody Evans, 21, of West Milford, was charged with stalking, resisting arrest and possession of a knife.

"He followed her to headquarters, and we arrested him," Jefferson police Capt. Eric Wilsusen said. "It was one of the easier arrests we've had."

Evans was also in possession of a knife, police said. When officers tried to apprehend him, he resisted, police said.

Evans posted $25,000 bail was released pending a municipal court appearance.
