Council Approves Ordinances

Money available for new equipment, improvements to parks and offices.

The J adopted several ordinances after a final hearing at its meeting on Wednesday night. They include the following:

  • $10,000 for improvements to municipal parks in the township;
  • $10,000 for improvements to the sewerage system;
  • $210,000 for improvements to the water supply and distribution in the township;
  • Just over $124,000 for improvements including wireless microphones for the Clerk’s office, a self-contained toilet for use by the Historical Society, furniture and carpets for offices in the township and computer equipment for the police department and other departments.
  • $104,700 for cheerleading and lawn maintenance equipment for the Recreation Department, firefighting and rescue equipment including turn-out gear, fire hoses, utility bed lockers, self-contained breathing apparatus;
  • $171,400 for improvements to Chamberlain Park and Lakeside Field with the installation of lighting, construction and renovation to the Prospect Point firehouse, upgrades to the energy system at the Building and Grounds Department, upgrade to HVAC system in the police computer room;
  • $204,700 for improvements to roads, including Stuart Lane, Field Court, Overhill Terrace, Pembroke Court, Lyons Road, Homestead Road, Michael Road, Hoover Road, Ress Road, Kentucky Road, Willow Road, Evergreen Road, Edgewood Road, Topaz Lane, Cozy Lake Road, Dover Milton Road, Russia Road, Holland Mountain Road, Colonial Oaks, Louis Street, Henry Street, Pershing Street, Prospect Point Road and the Lakeside Field parking lot;
  • $122,800 for improvements to storm water drainage systems along roads including Alabama Avenue, Ludlow Road, Stonybrook Lane, Moonlight Drive, Mitchell Road, Spring Road, Fredericks Road, Rudmar Road, Longwood Lake Road, Holland Mountain Road, Russia Road, Prospect Point Road and Schoolhouse Road;
  • $61,900 for new computer equipment for various offices;
  • $676,000 for new vehicles, including a utility vehicle for the Construction Code Department, two dump trucks for the Department of Public Works, one dump truck and one utility vehicle for the Recreation department,  two ambulances for the Township First Aid Squad and reconditioning of a fire engine;
  • $349,500 for for a new tanker truck for the fire department.
