Jefferson Mayor Resigns From Lake Hopatcong Commission

Felter will continue to serve as chairman until his replacement is appointed by Gov. Chris Christie.

Jefferson Township Mayor Russell Felter has resigned from the Lake Hopatcong Commission, according to a news report.

This was Felter's second attempt at resigning from the commission, which oversees activities related to the lake between Jefferson and Hopatcong, filed more than three months ago with the governor's office, AIM Jefferson reported. He had previously attempted to resign from the commission last year, but the request did not go through, according to AIM Jefferson.

Felter will continue to serve as the commission's chairman until Gov. Chris Christie appoints his replacement.
