The trees and lights on the gazebo are expected to be lit by Mayor Russell Felter’s 2012 Citizens of the Year Eileen Grady and John Focacci.

Once the lights are on, the children will get together to listen to a reading of the "The Night Before Christmas" by Jefferson Township Council President Richard Yocum as they eagerly await the arrival of Santa Claus.

Later in the night, Santa will enter the complex on his sleigh through a decorated Jefferson Township Fire Company No. 1 fire truck, and visit the children and hand out candy canes. His sidekick Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer is expected to be joining him.

There will be complimentary refreshments available in the Municipal Building’s Lobby after the event.

Residents who attend are asked to bring a non-perishable food item, paper product, household cleaning product, and/or toiletry items to donate to the township’s three food pantries to help the needy in the community.
