New Cops, Rescue Squad Members To Be Sworn In

Jefferson Council meeting to be preceded by budget discussion.

The Jefferson Township Council has a varied agenda set for its Wednesday, Feb. 27 meeting, with the swearing in of new police and rescue squad members.

The Mayor and Council will introduce and swear in William Carroll and Timothy Hecht as the township’s newest police officers, and residents Christina Gracia and Sal Jensen as its newest Rescue Squad members.

The governing body will also have a proclamation and resolution for the town’s newest Eagle Scout, Michael Thomas Staples.

Prior to the regular meeting, the group will discuss the communications and technology portion of the municipal budget, as well as going through line items for the recreation department, the agenda states.

A resolution is also on the table for the governing body to approve that would authorize the township to enter into the Cranford Police Cooperative Pricing System Agreement and also authorizing the mayor to execute the agreement.

The meeting is open to the public and all residents are encouraged to attend. The budget meeting begins at 6 p.m. with the regular meeting following at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 27 at the municipal building.
