POLL: Should We Vote on Every School Budget?

Tell us what you think.

Gov. Chris Christie recently signed a bill into law giving school boards the option to move the school board elections to the same date as the general election in November. As part of that bill, any school budget that stays within the state-imposed 2% cap would not be required to go out for a public vote.

Either the township committee or the (whichever meets first) can decide whether to move the election, and all school boards in New Jersey are required to make their decision by Feb. 17. The  action taken would be set for the next four years, according to the bill. The will meet on Wednesday night, and will decide on this issue as part of the schedule meeting business.

We asked you earlier what you think of moving the election from April to November. Now we want to know what you think of not voting on a budget that stays within the 2% cap. Take our poll, and offer some details in the comment section.
