What's On Tonight's Town Council Agenda?

The Jefferson Township council meets Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in council chambers at the municipal building. Here’s a preview of what’s on the agenda for the evening:

Mark J. Thompson will be installed as a firefighter for fire company no. 1, and megan Cottone and Robert Troha will be installed as Jefferson Township rescue squad members.

Three ordinances are up for public hearing upon adoption, as follows:

Ordinance 8-11 will appropriate $2,889,999 and authorize the issuance of $2,763,000 in bonds or notes for improvements or purposes to be undertaken by the township;

Ordinance 10-11 will amend subsection 7-37 of the municipal code to establish the position of police chaplain;

Ordinance 11-11 will amend the municipal code on smoking and sale of tobacco products to add additional properties to the ordinance.

The board is also expected to approve a resolution authorizing mayor Russell Felter to sign a shared services agreement with the board of education providing for the Drummond School conversion project that the board of education will undertake.
