National Poetry Month Celebration

Come for lunch at the library -- and bring your appetite for poetry. Celebrate National Poetry Month on April 13 at 1 p.m. by reading and analyzing a few poems from well-known poets. The library will provide a light lunch and copies of the poems. Afterwards, we will read the poems aloud, and discuss what they mean to us. Don’t be intimidated by poetry, or afraid that you won’t “get it.” There is no right or wrong in interpreting a poem.

National Poetry Month is a month-long celebration established by the Academy of American Poets to bring poets and poetry into the public eye, and to introduce more Americans to the pleasures of reading poetry.

The Jefferson Township Public Library is located at 1031 Weldon Road in oak Ridge. This program requires registration. Please register at www.jeffersonlibrary.net, or call the library at 973-208-6244.
