Jefferson Schools Cancel Evening Events Due to Predicted Winter Storm
No announcement has been released yet regarding whether schools will open Friday.
Evening events at Jefferson Township Public Schools will be cancelled Thursday, according to the district website. The reason: the snowstorm meteorologists say could drop up to eight inches of the white stuff through the area starting in late afternoon.
In advance of the storm, which is expected to bring near-blizzard conditions including blustery winds and extremely cold temperatures, school officials dismissed schools early and cancelled after-school extracurricular activities and afternoon pre-kindergarten and kindergarten classes (Jefferson Township High School sports teams, however, did meet for practice).
No announcement has been released regarding whether schools will open Friday.
