Jefferson Township Senior Wins Leadership Scholarship

Natalie Hedden received $2,000 from the New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association in recognition of her outstanding leadership efforts.

Natalie Hedden is starting college soon, and the New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association granted her a running start to fund her education.

The NJPSA granted Hedden, a senior at Jefferson Township High School and resident of Oak Ridge, the Student Leadership Scholarship last Tuesday for her demonstrated leadership skills.

Only 25 students of all three regions -- north, south and central -- of New Jersey receive the $2,000 award each year.

Hedden is president of the National Honor Society at Jefferson Township, a Girl Scout Service Award winner and an Outstanding Academic Achievement Award winner.

She is an active member of Youth United, Habitat for Humanity and the junior peer development program at the school. She is also a cheerleader, field hockey player and captain of the lacrosse team.

"I am always impressed by the level of dedication and commitment these students demonstrate to their chosen activities," NJPSA Assistant Executive Director Chuck Stein said. "I have no doubt that these future leaders of society will realize tremendous success, and NJPSA is proud to recognize their contributions in this way."
