Violence Drops, Good District Audit in Jefferson Schools

The Board of Education discussed the findings of its most recent business audit and the 2012-13 Violence and Vandalism Report.

The  Jefferson Township school district is "as healthy as the state will allow you to be," an auditor reported at last Monday's Board of Education meeting, AIM Jefferson reported.

John Mooney of Nisivoccia LLP gave the board the results of the 2012-2013 business audit of the district, which showed a $1.8 million fund balance and that the district was on track with state guidelines.

In other BOE news, Superintendent Joseph Kraemer said he was pleased with what he saw in the results of the 2012-2013 Violence and Vandalism Report, which showed reductions in acts of violence. There was also a slight rise in acts of vandalism, the superintendent said, but not in the monetary cost of such incidents, the article said.
