Middle Schoolers Move on to Jefferson High

Promotion ceremony takes place outdoors under the warmest of weather.

Temperatures topped out near the 100-degree mark, but students from didn't seem to mind, as they marched onto the high school football field, a sea of blue and gold, to mark the end of their middle school days and the beginning of their high school careers.

After salutatorian Marisa Urcinole and valedictorian Kaylah Birmingham gave their speeches, school superintendent Joseph Kraemer advised the students to "try new things," and "use your time in high school to discover yourself and your passion."

After each student was called to the stage, high school principal Karl Mundi addressed the group as the Class of 2016.
