Nine Jefferson Students Honored for Outstanding Artwork

For the 15th year, the work of young Jefferson artists will be on display in the Jefferson Township Library through Feb. 12.

Jefferson Township students don't keep their artistic creations to themselves. Nine students in the district were feted for their artwork in a program sponsored by the Jefferson Arts Committee and the art teachers of the Jefferson Township school system.

It's the 15th year young township artists have been recognized for their work, which will be on display in the Jefferson Township Library through Feb. 12.

Each of the award-winning artists was recognized at their school as an Artist of the Month for their efforts. They received Outstanding Achievement certificates and Fine Arts medallions, presented to them by art teacher Jennifer Tamayne-Heetema and Jack Kelly of the Jefferson Arts Committee.

Students receiving the honors were: Shane Conley, White Rock School; Xian Jin Cao, Cozy Lake School; Harper Felch, E.T. Briggs School; Tthan Tararbocchia, Arthur Stanlick School. Also, Chelsea Bitondo and Noelle Sabatino, Jefferson Township Middle School, and Cassandra Diamandas, Adam Thompson, and Karly Wilsusen, Jefferson Township High School.
