School Board Seeks Candidate to Fill Vacated Seat

Due to the  the Board is seeking a resident of the district to fill the vacancy.  The candidate selected to fill the unexpired term will serve as a member until the next election in November 2012.

Interested applicants should send a letter of interest to Dora Zeno, Board Secretary, , 31 Route 181, Lake Hopatcong, NJ 07849. Letters should be received by 12 p.m. on Thursday, April 12.

The candidate must be a citizen of the United States of America, at least 18 years of age, able to read and write, a Jefferson resident for at least one year preceding the date of appointment, not directly/indirectly interested in a contract with a claim against the Board, be registered to vote in the District, and not disqualified as a voter pursuant to NJSA 19:4-1. 

In accordance with district policy, it is anticipated that qualified candidates will be interviewed at the April 23 board meeting scheduled at the  media center. The meeting will be open to the public.  By statute, the Board must fill the vacancy within 65 days following its occurrence, which is May 24.
