Jefferson High Bids Farewell to Retiring Coach and Teacher After 26 Years

Jefferson Township High School girls basketball coach Jim O'Connor is leaving after 26 years in the position to retire to upstate New York, AIM Jefferson reported.
In addition to his sports role, he taught students in physical education, health and driver's education, earning a reputation as a mentor who cared about young people, the article said.
O'Connor told the publication that he decided when he turned 55 in October that he was ready for a change so that he can travel and try his hand at construction.
