Jefferson's Reese Shines Bright in Football All-Star Game

Falcons quarterback finishes high school career with three touchdowns in Paul Robeson Classic.

The annual Paul Robeson Classic, pitting high school football players from the northeastern and northwestern part of the state against each other for a June showdown, is an honor just to be part of.

For Jefferson’s J.R. Reese, the Falcon quarterback took that honor and made the most of it.

Despite a 40-21 loss on the West squad, Reese three for all three of the team’s touchdowns, according to nj.com. He hit three different receivers in the first, third, and fourth quarters on passes of 11, 5, and 20 yards, respectively.

Reese, the son of New York Giants general manager Jerry Reese, was offered a scholarship from his father’s alma mater, Tennessee-Martin, but bypassed it for a walk-on chance at Rutgers University.

Reese is enrolled at the New Jersey school for the start of the 2014-15 school year.
