Warm Weather Puts Knee Deep's Ice Fishing Contest on Hold

The warm weather has caused the club to reschedule the ice fishing contest to Feb. 16.

The recent spate of relatively warm weather is good news to some, but not to those who love ice fishing, particularly the members of the Knee Deep Club.

The 2014 Ice Fishing contest, which was to be held on Sunday, Jan. 19, has been postponed due to unsafe ice conditions, the club posted on their website.

All's not lost, though. The event has been rescheduled to Sunday, Feb. 16, in the hopes of icier weather, and begins at 6 a.m. through 4 p.m.

The contest entry fee is $20 for Knee Deep Club members and $25 for non-members and must be submitted with the official contest entry form found on their website. Mailed-in entries must be received by Friday, Feb. 14,  and in-person entries can be made at the official Knee Deep Contest Weigh Stations until 8 a.m. the day of the contest. No one will be allowed to register after this time.

For more rules and help on entering, visit the Knee Deep Club's website.
