Art Wins Out Over Chilly Temperatures

Second annual Artists on the Lake show benefits Jefferson Rescue Squad.

Works of art, a mellow band and an outdoor deck all combined made for a pleasant day on Lake Hopatcong last Sunday.

The Jefferson House sponsored the second annual Artists show on the Lake show, with proceeds going to benefit the Jefferson Rescue Squad.

"We had about 12 artists in attendance," said Amy Piccloi, an artist and salad chef at the Jefferson House. "We also had the Russell Clemens Band playing lots of mellow music. It made for a great atmosphere. If only the weather could have been a little more cooperative," she said.

Bill and Allan Orth, owners of the Jefferson House, came up with the idea of a benefit art show last year, with that event helping out the Jefferson animal shelter.

"The rescue squad members are long-time friends and customers, so we chose to give them the proceeds this year," Piccoli said.
