David Chaplin researched how landscape art can help ease the pain that terminally ill patients feel. So the member of Boy Scout Troop 151 painted landscapes on the ceiling tiles of patients at the Compassionate Care Hospice of St. Clare's Hospital. The project earned Chaplin his Eagle Scout award.
“When I did the research, I learned that a calming image can help people who are terminally ill to be more peaceful, and I wanted to help them,” Chaplin said.
The honored Chaplin at its meeting on Wednesday night. On hand to celebrate with him were his parents Sandi and Dennis and his sister Cori.
