Don't Forget the Dogs at the Holidays

Buy a dog a gift, get an ornament in return.

Many people remember their fellow human beings at the holidays. We contribute to food banks and buy presents to place under a giving tree. But we can't forget our furry friends at this time of year. Here's how you can help:

  1. Who: Girl Scouts from Troop 442 are working on their Silver Award by helping Eleventh Hour Rescue take care of animals in need at the holidays.
  2. What: You can pick up canned or dry dog food, comfy blankets, squeaky toys or bones.
  3. Where It Goes: You can take your gifts to the angel trees the scouts have set up at or the .
  4. When: The trees are up now and will remain in place until Dec. 22.
  5. What You'll Get: When you leave your gift, you can take a bone ornament from the tree to decorate your own tree.
