Jefferson High Schoolers Talk About Human Slavery with Knights of Columbus

Project Stay Gold, a student abolitionist group based at JTHS and other schools, works to fight human trafficking.

A group of Jefferson Township High School students recently gave a presentation to the Joseph Lamb Knights of Columbus Council about Project Stay Gold, an organization that fights modern-day slavery and human trafficking, the Advertiser News reported.

Project Stay Gold, a student abolitionist group, works to raise awareness of the phenomenon, to support rescue and prevention missions and to try and eradicate the practice. Group members will visit schools throughout the state with U.S. Sen. Jeffrey Chiesa to call other teens to action.

On Sept 19, the teens told the Knights of Project Stay Gold's mission, achievements and plans, and the chapter gave the group a donation to help boost the project's profile, which will have a high presence at the 2014 Super Bowl, which will be held at New Jersey's MetLife Stadium.
