Kunkel Receives Camp Fire USA Honor

Council celebrates her accomplishments.

Catherine Kunkel was honored at last week’s meeting as a winner of the Wohelo Award from Camp Fire USA.

Kunkel completed learning about three advocacy issues, performing 200 hours of community service and four reflections, as well as participating in fundraisers and learning about the history of Camp Fire USA.

For her service projects, she helped build a retaining wall, organized a coat drive where she collected 300 coats and participated in a sports equipment exchange.

Kunkel was accompanied at the award ceremony by her mother and father Karen and Christopher and her sister Lexi.

She will be attending Montclair State University in the fall as a physical education major and will be a javelin thrower for the school.
