State Hoop Dreams End for Lady Falcons

Jefferson loses to Teaneck in state sectional final.

The quest for a state title ended for the Lady Falcons on Wednesday night, as Teaneck defeated Jefferson by a 63-50 margin. Teaneck won the NJSIAA North Section I Group III state sectional title. From the start, Teaneck appeared to be faster on the court than Jefferson. “We knew their speed would be tough” said Falcon head coach Jim O’Connor. “We just weren’t prepared for it. There was no way we could simulate that kind of speed in practice.  They just forced us right out of our game.” O’Connor noted, however, that his team didn’t quit, no matter what the odds. “We brought it back to five with about four minutes left to play, which is testament to this team’s work ethic,” he said. “They just wouldn’t give up.” Jefferson’s Sammy Lapszynski…

Superintendent and Sentencing Top the Week in Jefferson

Here's all the news you may have missed.

Lots went on in J-Town last week. We had a new superintendent, a murder sentencing and a couple of pretty good girls’ basketball games. Don’t worry if you missed anything. We have all the details right here in our week in review. Ronnie Fedo Sentenced: on Friday, Ronnie Fedo was sentenced to 25 years for the death of Nisan Ambaroglu, the owner of the Getty Mart on Route 15. The incident happened on June 25. Kraemer Named Superintendent: Joseph Kraemer was appointed superintendent of schools on Thursday. He is currently the assistant superintendent, and will take over the position on April 1, when current superintendent Dr. Kathaleen Fuchs retires.
