The well-known Mount Arlington restaurant burned down in early January. Two township women were taken to area hospitals after they were injured in a four-car accident on Berkshire Valley Road near the Route 15 off-ramp, Jefferson police said. Two teens fell through the icy waters of Budd Lake, sparking a two-day search that ended with the recovery of the two bodies. A Jefferson man was charged with aggravated assault, in addition to DWI, after police said he kicked an officer on Dec. 21. A mother and her teenage son were killed in a house fire in Rockaway Township.
