Paintball-Shooting Spree Damages Homes, Cars
Police searching for shooters who hit 26 residences Sunday night.
Some 26 Hopatcong homes were hit with paintballs between 11 p.m. Sunday and the early morning hours of Monday, causing broken windows and dents, and police are asking the public for any information to help solve the case. Paintballs hit homes and cars as the night wore on, Lt. Thomas Kmetz said, and while some residents were able to simply wash the paint off, others had dents and broken windows to their property. The estimated value of the damage has not yet been determined, Kmetz said. Police are waiting for a surveillance video but are seeking the public’s help in the interim. When they are caught they should pay for the damage and do some community activity . There are places to play paintball safely so why take it out on people minding their own business.Not innocent fun vandalism.   more ›
