Pub 199 repairs moving quickly after blaze took down Mt. Arlington establishment.

Surf and turf lovers from far and wide may be chomping on clams and steak on Howard Boulevard in Mt. Arlington sooner than they think. Pub 199, which was engulfed by flames and nearly taken completely to ashes in early January will have its roof installed next week, and may be open before the unofficial start of summer–Memorial Day weekend–according to an nj.com report. Owner George Markou said, “I’m going to sell clams on Memorial Day weekend,” in the report, and began rebuilding despite insurance reimbursements not yet being received. Markou told nj.com the restaurant may be open even sooner than the final weekend of May.

The place was a dump. Animals on the wall disgusting. And the steak? Low grade dog food. Otherwise, fun for the whole family.   more ›
