About Jodi
My name is Jodi Ciampa and I live in Jefferson Township, New Jersey. I graduated from Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey in 1996 with a Bachelors' Degrees in Elementary Education and Psychology. In 2001, I received a Master’s Degree in Education from Marygrove College in Detroit, Michigan. During the course of my teaching career, I have held MANY positions. Between six placements during college and the numerous teaching / day care positions held before having children, I have taught every age group, from nursery school to adults, and every socioeconomic background, be it urban, suburban or rural.
Since graduation, I have held ten different teaching positions, some simultaneously, and substituted at every grade level. I taught Science and Religion to 6th, 7th and 8th graders in a Catholic School and a Mathematics and Reading Basic Skills Class to 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. I worked in a Rehabilitation Center teaching a GED preparation course to juvenile offenders and at night, Math and English to adults who were studying for their high school diplomas. In 1999, I happily landed my first full time teaching position where I taught an English Class and Reading and Writing Class to 7th graders in Parsippany, New Jersey. In 2000, I solely taught Reading and Writing and remained at that until 2003 when I had my son. During that same time, I was the assistant high school cheerleading coach at Parsippany Hills High School until I had my daughter in 2006. So to say the least, I have run the gamut and have been exposed to a lot of children.
Currently, I am a 39 year old housewife and can proudly say am doing the job I always dreamed of which is being a stay-at-home mother to Luke (8) and Nicole (5). But despite “not leaving the house to work” my life is extremely busy. For my children, I volunteered as vice president then social director of a moms’ group in town and held the positions of treasurer and chairperson of their nursery school. I am a catechist at our church, and have been for three different grades in the past, am homeroom parent, on the PTA and a Girl Scout Leader.
