Tom Wyka, Neighbor

Tom Wyka is a 18 year resident of Parsippany. For the past several years, he has been a tireless advocate for government reforms through his political candidacy and community leadership. Tom ran for U.S. Congress twice, and lead an effort in Parsippany to institute the most stringent “Pay-to-Play” reform measure for local municipalities, curtailing businesses from donating large amounts of money to elected officials and candidates in exchange for favorable treatment.

Tom believes as Thomas Jefferson said that an “informed Democracy will behave responsibly” and is likewise a staunch advocate of government transparency to keep citizens informed about the workings of government and the fair allocation of resources. Tom is the Vice President of the NJ Foundation for Open Government, which educates and advocates for taxpayers’ rights to government information. Tom is also a mentor for Citizens’ Campaign, a good government organization that coaches and teaches NJ residents about local political power structures and how to advocate for government reforms at a grass roots level.

He is active as a parent in both Cub Scout Pack 177, and a PAL Redhawks Football coach.   He is also on the Finance Committee of St. Christopher’s Church and a member of the Kiwanis Club of Greater Parsippany.

Tom studied Business Administration at Bucknell University obtaining a Bachelors of Science degree, and later an MBA from Seton Hall University. He has worked for 20 years at a variety of large corporations and small entrepreneurial businesses as a certified Information Technology Project Manager and consultant specializing in internet marketing.

He lives in Troy Hills with his talented wife Betty and their two children.
