Pub Crawl Benefits Homeless Pets

More than $2,500 raised by 120 local 'crawlers.'

A crowd of 120 pub crawlers cheers'd to saving homeless pets June 21 when they participated in the Coming Home Rescue's 4th Annual Pub Crawl.

The crawl, which included several area bars such as Tavern on the Rocks, Shenanigans, Adams Beer Garden, Mill Lane Tavern and The Exchange in Rockaway, was held to raise money for the organization that helps homeless animals. Crawlers enjoyed drinks, live music and met some of the dogs up for adoption.

At the end of the event, more than $2,500 was raised, according to a press release.

“We couldn’t have done it without the support of all of the amazing Rockaway bars and Potbelly’s, who provided crawlers with delicious macaroni and cheese,” said Jennifer Schweizer, Coming Home Rescue volunteer and co-chair of the event. “The money raised at the Pub Crawl will go towards vaccinations, microchips, and spaying/neutering many pets before being adopted.”
